Tips

When booking online, be aware that you are ultimately responsible for your decision. Be sure to read the fine print when booking.
Here are a few tips:

  • Be sure that you are comparing apples to apples. In the case of flights, check out the length of the travel time and the airports. Occasionally, you might find a fare that has you arriving at one airport and leaving for another. A good example of this is flying into JFK for your first flight and departing on the next from Newark. In addition to having to change airports, you may also find poor connections, overnight flights and/or extended layovers. You need to decide what you are willing to accept for your discounted price.
  • When comparing rates and fares, check to see whether or not all taxes and fees are included . What sounds like a great deal at the onset, may not be so good once the total fees and taxes are added to the base price.
  • When requesting hotel rooms, remember that you are simply making a request for a certain type of room. Call the hotel in advance if you require a specific type of bedding configuration.
  • Some sites may charge booking and/or cancellation fees. Be sure to read and understand the terms before paying for your reservation.
